Rasool Vatandoust

Rasool Vatandoust, BSc in chemistry and PhD in Conservation Science from University of London, began his professional career from the early years of 1970s in the Iranian Archaeological Center where he contributed in the establishment of the Conservation Laboratory and Workshop there and since then he has played a crucial role in development of the specialized field of conservation and restoration of historical-cultural properties in Iran. Founder and the first chairman of the Research Center for the Conservation of Cultural Relics (RCCCR), Dr. Vatandoust has also been among the prominent experts of UNESCO, member of the ICCROM Council as well as a member of the Executive Committee of ICOMOS, and different regional and international committees for cultural heritage.

Dr. Rasool Vatandoust, as one of the founders and organizers of training programs, as well as professor and lecturer, has been involved in different universities of Iran in conservation and restoration since 1976 and conducted many university students in PhD, MA, and MSc degrees. As a specialist author and translator, he holds many books and papers in conservation and restoration field.
